About the Artist

Irene MacKenzie's first art shows, over 20 years ago, was in the Niagara Parks Botanical Gardens at an outdoor art show, in the rain, with no tent. After selling almost all of her original paintings, she never looked backed and has attended hundreds of shows across Ontario.

Art has always been a passion for this NIagara watercolour artist. Irene has lived in Niagara for over 40 years. After teaching public school for twelve years, Irene began to purse her art career full time. As an artist, she believes strongly in the power of art to enhance one's quality of life. Her energetic style and enthusiasm for painting blends her love of nature with her love of florals.

Irene is constantly inspired by the incredible, unlimited beauty of Niagara and is particularly humbled and awed by the amazing beauty of the falls. She appreciates that her watercolours are enjoyed in so many countries throughout the world.
